Welcome to The Bethesda Life Center!

Spread the Word! Make tracks to the 5K Run/Walk at the Junction
Join us as we hit the streets to celebrate and demonstrate healthy living in Ensley November 10 at our first 5K run/walk. Maybe you’ve never done a 5K (3.1-mile) race. Or maybe it’s been a while since you’ve been active. We’re here to help you get ready.
Couch to 5K training starts Saturday, August 11, and it’s free! You’ll get guidance on training to finish the event at your own pace from fitness expert Jerri Haslem. The 8-week training program is designed for all fitness levels.
All you have to do is show up at one of these three training sites:
  • Downtown Birmingham – 7 a.m. at Railroad Park, 1600,1st Ave. S., near 17th St. S., under the pavilion
  • Graymont/Smithfield – 8 a.m. at McLendon Park, located in the middle of Legion Field, 400 Graymont Ave. West
  • Ensley – 9 a.m. Bethesda Life Center, 321 19th Street Ensley

Choose the site most convenient to you. Just make plans to be there.

In addition to the free training, take advantage of the low-cost baseline health screenings at the Bethesda for only $20.  Participants are encouraged to get a checkup before the training, and afterward to see how training affects blood sugar, blood pressure, body fat composition, etc.
